The NBA Playoff started on Saturday, following a series of play-in matchups, and the first games of the playoffs did not disappoint. Here is a recap of every game one of the first round of the NBA Playoff.
Philadelphia 76ers 121- 101 Brooklyn Nets
Brooklyn's Mikal Bridges had an impressive 30 points and 5 rebounds game against this 76ers team in game one, however, the 76ers took over this game thanks to NBA MVP candidate Joel Embiid and James Harden, that would take over in second half to help the 76ers win 121-101 victory. Harden finished with 23 points and 13 assists, while Emiid finished 26 points and 5 rebounds, as they look to keep momentum going heading into game two.
Boston Celtics 112- 99 Atlanta Hawks
The Boston Celtics are looking to get back to the NBA Finals this season, as they started their campaign with big victory over the Atlanta Hawks, 112-99. Jaylen Brown puts up 29 points and 12 rebounds, while Jayson Tatum had 25 points and 11 rebound, as the Celtics started off hot and finished this game early in Boston. Dejounte Murray had 24 points and 8 rebound, while Trae Young had 16 points and 8 assists for the Hawks, as they look to regroup for game two in Boston.
New York Knicks 101- 97 Cleveland Cavaliers
Julius Randle returns to the New York Knicks for game one, as he would score 19 points and 10 rebounds, as Jalen Brunson would score 27 points and 2 assists and Josh Hart would score 17 points and 10 assists off the bench to lead the Knicks to a 101-97 victory of the Cavaliers. Donovan Mitchell would keep this matchup close, as he scores 38 points and 8 assists and Jarrett Allen would score 14 points and 14 rebounds to keep this battle of Eastern Conference rivals close in game one.
Sacramento Kings 126- 123 Golden State Warriors
The Kings ended a 16 year drought, as De'Aaron Fox scores 38 points and 5 assists to help lift Sacramento past the defending NBA champion Warriors, 126-123. Stephen Curry scores 30 points and 6 assists and Klay Thompson scores 21 points and 6 rebounds for the Warriors, as they head into game two, looking to avoid being down in a 2-0 deficit since the second round against the Utah Jazz back in 2007.
Los Angeles Lakers 128- 112 Memphis Grizzlies
Rui Hachimura's 29 points and 6 rebounds from the bench and Lebron James 21 points and 11 rebounds performance would help the Lakers pick up a big win to start their playoff run, as they get a 128-112 victory over the Grizzlies in Memphis. Ja Morant would score 18 points before leaving with a hand injury, as Jaren Jackson Jr. would lead the Grizzlies with 31 points and 5 rebounds, as they look to group before the next game in Memphis.
Miami Heat 130- 117 Milwaukee Bucks
In a game that saw Milwaukee Bucks Giannis Antetokounmpo leave with a back injury and Miami Heats Tyler Herro leave with a broken hand, Jimmy Butler would score 35 points and 11 assists for the Heat, as they pick up a huge game one victory over the Bucks, 130-117. Khris Middleton would score 33 points and 9 rebound for the Bucks, as they wait to hear if Giannis will be available for game two in Milwaukee, Herro for the Heat will be done for rest of the playoffs.
Los Angeles Clippers 115- 110 Phoenix Suns
The Clippers Kawhi Leonard scores 38 points and 5 rebounds, as Los Angeles comes out with a close victory against the Suns, 115-110. Kevin Durant scores 27 points and 11 assists for the Suns, along with Devin Booker scores 26 points and 4 steals, as Phoenix looks to get this star studded team back on track, as they wait for game two in Phoenix.
Denver Nuggets 109- 80 Minnesota Timberwolves
In the final game one matchup of the NBA Playoff weekend, the Denver Nuggets would take game one of the series with its big three of Michael Porter Jr., Nikola Jokic, and Jamal Murray would dominate in 109-80 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Murray's 24 points and 8 rebound, along with Porter Jr.'s 18 points and 11 rebounds and Jokic 13 points and 14 rebounds would overtake Anthony Edwards 18 points and 5 assist game for the Timberwolves.
